Experience Equine Guided Development

Add Horse as Teacher, Coach, or Healer to your Wellness Practice (Level 1 Training)

This is the first step for anyone who is interested in facilitating Equine Guided Development (EGD) and can also be taken by anyone who is feeling called to experience the wellness and growth potential that horses can offer. This 5 day workshop is for those of you who want to explore the possibility of adding a Horse as Teacher, Coach, or Healer aspect to your existing or developing wellness practice. During our time together we will provide an introduction to the growing field of Equine Guided Development – also known as Equine Facilitated Wellness, Equine Experiential Learning, and Equine Assisted Coaching to name a few.

Exploring Equine Guided Development is the foundational course of study at Chiron’s Way, equivalent to the Explorations Training for those of you who are interested in becoming certified through the National Association of Equine Facilitated Wellness (NAEFW).

This 5 day workshop includes:

  • The Epona Approach ™ - taught on the first 2 days – open to participants outside of Exploring EGD
  • Horse Psychology and Body Language
  • Body Awareness and Personal Space
  • The Art of Relationship – the Invitation
  • Horse as Guide and Partner
  • Equine Experiential exercises
  • Case Studies and Exploration
  • Ethical and safety considerations for human and horse
  • Industry standards, training and certification programs
  • Philosophy, principles and ethics of NAEFW

Workshop topics will be covered through a blend of discussions, presentations, demonstrations and hands on experiential exercises.
